My Devotion is to the Name (Ha-Shem)

a declaration of my house faith and foundation

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to an unfit mind, to do those things which are not proper, having been filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, violent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the righteous requirement of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.

Romans 1:28-32 • Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)

We often when reading this passage we tend to think, this is talking about unbelieving sinners. But these set of concerning attitudes are not from people that do not know Yahweh, but instead people that has decided to ignore Him.

and although they know the righteous requirement of God…

Today we have confused what our great commission is. We think, as an assembly, that we are to teach and disciple the people that agree with us, that we can only bless those that think like us, those who interpret the Bible similar to us.

But if this is true, Yeshua would have never die for us. But He did. How far gone are we based on His standard? So far that we deserve death. And still, He died for us.

How far would your brother or sister should be for you to deny Him the opportunity to return to Yahweh? Check the video below from Rabbi Jason Sobel, his insight into the concept of 70 × 7 will blow your understanding.

Rabbi Jason Sobel, Fusion Global, teaching about 70 × 7

How far shall we go to forgive?

How far are you willing to go to forgive someone who has betrayed, hurt, and insulted you? How far did Yahweh go? Did He not lower Himself to our level, allowing our hatred to consume Him? We are called to spread the gospel as far and as widely as necessary, regardless of the distance or the cost. Are we any better than Yahweh or His Son?

Not everyone will join you in your journey of trying to understand the stories in the Bible in their original language. But knowing the intricacy of the Jewish language, does not warranty that you will understand and abide in the requirements of the knowledge of Yahweh. It might help to dig deeper, but remember, no one knows better the Hebrew language than the scholars of Israel and still Yeshua their Messiah said to them:

And He (Yeshua) said to them, “Rightly did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites, as it is written,
‘This people honors Me with their lips
but their heart is far from Me.
And in vain they worship Me,
teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’
Having left behind the commandment of God, you hold on to the tradition of men.” He was also telling them, “You set aside the commands of God, in order that you may validate your own tradition.

Mark 7:6-9 •Tree of Life Version (TLV) — emphasis added

We have to guard our hearts because thinking that we will know all the secrets by learning the deep roots of the Hebrew language, can lead you to a path of deception as the leaders of Israel fell into when Yeshua walked the earth.

It doesn’t matter what language you speak—Holy Spirit has no issue with that. He knows how to communicate His message effectively, regardless of the language you use to speak of Him or about Him, who sent Him. Just ask the apostles who were in the upper room on Shavuot (Pentecost).

If we make a habit of disregard others because they do not want to learn Hebrew, or to believe how we believe and separate ourselves of those we consider being trap in paganism. What use does have Yahweh for us, we then became vanity, useless vessels? As it is portrait in the Tanak, we have eaten the fruit of idleness.

Are not we meant to be like lamps, illuminating a world shrouded in darkness?

Lamentably I have been asked many times to distance myself from non-believers or from believers that do not want to follow Yahweh’s because Yahweh has already discounted them. But as far as I know, Yeshua has not yet returned as the conquering king, He did come as the conquering servant. It is He who will cast final judgement not me or you, will be Him casting that decision in the day of judgment not us. Will be Him separating the weed from the wheat, that’s not what we have been commanded.

We are to consistently forgive those that offend us, so we can keep bringing the light of Yeshua through our actions and reactions, like my wife constantly prays above our home.

Anyone who advised me not to preach the truth of the Messiah clearly has a serious issue with my boss. You can reach out to Him directly—simply pray silently in your mind. He’s always available to hear your requests. Who knows? He might even reveal Himself to you.

Our devotion should be to the name (ha‑shem) of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)

Ha-Shem translate to “The Name”, it is used as a substitute to avoid using the name of YHWH.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, immersing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Ruach ha-Kodesh, teaching them to observe all I have commanded you. And remember! I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20 •Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

I will always proclaim in the Name (Ha‑Shem)—the Father ●, the Son ●, and the Holy Spirit ● (Ha‑Shem Echad – a compound unity). Matthew made it beautifully clear, the Name, which in Hebrew translates to Ha‑Shem, —which is very significant—, it represents the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. And consequently, the name of Yahweh, the tetragrammaton YHWH encapsulates, three epochs of time:

  1. Infinite Past: Who was, the One that created everything and everything comes from Him and through Him.
  2. Infinite Present: Who is, the One that is redeeming us through the wilderness with His Wisdom.
  3. Infinite Future: Who is to come, as the one who restores His dominion over creation, this time forever and ever.

Each of these stages of time are represented in the Father, to whom the Son leads to, —and actually He is the only way to the Father, the mysterious Angel of the Lord in the Tanakh, always ensuring to point humanity to the right direction, —consequently, at the same time, the Son introduced us to the Ruach Ha-Kodesh who will always supply a connection between us and the Fullness of Yahweh. And this is the fullness of The Name, the Father, the Son, and the Ruach Ha-Kodesh.

While for us seems like three different entities, they are one, that is why Yahweh was introduced to us in the Hebrew Bible as “Elohim”, a compound being that is “Echad”, similar to the union of a man and a woman. For Yahweh, Man and woman are two in one, but you also need to consider that Yahweh sees beyond the foundation of the “one” couple, He look forward, farther ahead, the generations that will blossom from this unity, a similar three‑in‑one complexity, but still seen as “one” in the eyes of Yahweh.

Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness! Let them rule over the fish of the sea, over the flying creatures of the sky, over the livestock, over the whole earth, and over every crawling creature that crawls on the land.” God created humankind in His image, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them. God blessed them and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, fill the land, and conquer it. Rule over the fish of the sea, the flying creatures of the sky, and over every animal that crawls on the land.”

Genesis 1:26-28 •Tree of Life Version (TLV)

Yahweh’s fullness made “Adam” in their image, a compound unity, and quickly Yahweh mentions the purpose of this complex and sophisticated unity.

He (Ha‑Shem — singular) created him (Adam —singular), male and female, He created them (plural)… and Elohim (plural) said to them (plural), “Be fruitful and multiply…”

That is why when Adam fell, we all fell, and by rejecting all attempts of restoration, through covenants, we as Adam, rejected the One that wants to bless us, and that has blessed us.

This is not a “Catholic Roman” concept, this is a concept that has been portrayed from the beginning. That a Gentile priest was brave enough to say it out loud does not change the fact that this truth has been there from the beginning.

Have you asked yourself why are we so adamant to receive this fact? We as humans are constantly rejecting this unity, more specifically —the Spirit—, as the essential part of this plurality, or trinity, whatever you want this fluidity to be called, —how you call it makes no difference to Yahweh—, because the important part is that it is the Spirit who ultimately writes the Torah in our hearts.

If the translation “Law” makes you uncomfortable, then call it Yahweh’s eternal will, instructions or guidance, Torah translates to any of those as well.

But these word games are what cause us to reject the fullness of Yahweh, because we want to walk in Yahweh’s blessing but under our conditions. Either intentionally or unintentionally.

When you confess with your mouth that you believe in Yeshua, you have to believe ALL of Him, for in Him is embodied the fullness of Yahweh.

He is the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn of all creation.
For by Him all things were created—
in heaven and on earth,
the seen and the unseen,
whether thrones or angelic powers
or rulers or authorities.
All was created through Him and for Him.
He exists before everything,
and in Him all holds together.

Colossians 1:15-17 •Tree of Life Version (TLV)

Everything was created by Ha‑Shem, no other, no angels, not any other elohim (spiritual being), like many wanting to add to the text. Paul says it very clear:

For by Him (Yeshua) all things were created—in heaven and on earth, the seen and the unseen, whether thrones or angelic powers or rulers or authorities. ALL was created through Him (suddenly He is also the tool to create) and for Him (He is also the one who is glorified by it).

Once again, this pattern of Three-in-one again. The Master Creator, The Mechanism of Creation and Reason of Creation. But you don’t have to go far to understand this, just jump few verses forward.

For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, making peace through the blood of His cross— whether things on earth or things in heaven!

Colossians 1:19-20 •Tree of Life Version (TLV) – highlights added

Let’s put in perspective this verse, I highlighted the pronouns in the verse in different colors because it seems that many get lost in the pronouns. Yellow represents Ha‑Shem —the Father, while the green represents Yeshua — Ha‑Shem the Son. This is just a visual aid to help you read those verses as such:

For Ha‑Shem the Father was pleased to have all the Father fullness dwell in Ha‑Shem —the Son —and through Him —the Son —to reconcile all things to Himself —the Father, making peace through the blood of the Father‘s cross— whether things on earth or things in heaven!

And in case you still doubt that, then Paul continues with the explanation of what he just said. As his ancestral teachers, he uses repetition to force us to remember, to point to subjects that requires our outmost attention:

Once you were alienated from God and hostile in your attitude by wicked deeds. But now He has reconciled you in Messiah’s physical body through death, in order to present you holy, spotless and blameless in His eyes— if indeed you continue in the faith, established and firm, not budging from the hope of the Good News that you have heard. This Good News has been proclaimed throughout all creation under heaven, and I, Paul, have become its servant.

Colossians 1:21-23 •Tree of Life Version (TLV)

This amazing gift has been offered to us, first to the Jews and then to the Gentiles, for this way we can have a relation with this Elohim, who is in essence a community of love, faithfulness and justice. It is a free gift, with a very important condition. Full surrender, full devotion and full attention to the One who is more than willing to do whatever is necessary to bring us back to the Garden.

if indeed you continue in the faith, established and firm, not budging from the hope of the Good News that you have heard. (Col 1:23a)

It is a shame that our flesh is willing to reject this gift, just because is hard for us to submit to Yahweh. As Paul pointed out…

And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge Yahweh (Rom 1:28)

The individuals Paul is talking about are individuals that not only rejects what has been revealed in Scripture but also encourage others to do so.

Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:19 • Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)

This happens when you do not allow Ha‑Shem —The Spirit to guide you to the truth, and build your foundation in what is not Ha‑Shem, the Father and the Son. Which is what Yeshua, Ha‑Shem —the Son, gifted to us. As He has done throughout the Tanakh with our heroes of the faith.

“If you love Me (Yeshua), you will keep My commandments. I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper so He may be with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him.

John 14:15-17 •Tree of Life Version (TLV) – highlights and emphasis added

Only with Ha‑Shem —the Spirit we are capable to follow the commandments that we have had since the beginning as the Apostle Yohanan, —John—, spoke is his letters to the ecclesia in 1 John 2:7 and Yeshua confirm further in Yohanan chapter 14, Yeshua’s commandments are the same commandments from the Father, there is no new sets of instructions. Ha‑Shem is One.

He who does not love Me does not keep My words. And the word you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me. These things I have spoken to you while dwelling with you. But the Helper, the Ruach ha-Kodesh whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you everything and remind you of everything that I said to you.

John 14:24-26 •Tree of Life Version (TLV)

Yahweh wants to unify us as a community, because He Himself is a complexity of Love. He is Love.

I serve an Elohim of unity, not division—one who brings together all languages and tongues and people and nations. He will unify Israel and Judah into a single nation. The nation of Israel, and at the same time, we Gentiles are being grafted into this nation. The will of Yah from the beginning.

To the Jews that has not met their Messiah I will preach about Him, because that’s what Yahweh commanded me to do in the Torah:

They aroused my jealousy with a non-god and provoked me with their vanities; I will arouse their jealousy with a non-people and provoke them with a vile nation. “Sing out, you nations, about his people! For he will avenge the blood of his servants. He will render vengeance to his adversaries and make atonement for the land of his people.”

Deuteronomy 32:21,43 • Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

To Christians or Messianic that have lost the way in confusion and disputes, I will preach of His unfailing love and forgiveness, because that is what He asked me to do, not matter at what cost:

“If the world hates you, understand that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, the world would have loved its own. But because you do not belong to the world—on the contrary, I have picked you out of the world—therefore the world hates you. Remember what I told you, ‘A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you too; if they kept my word, they will keep yours too. But they will do all this to you on my account, because they don’t know the One who sent me.

John 15:18-21 • Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

This is not about remaining in Safe Zones. Our path leads us toward the wilderness—toward adversity and challenge. We are called to take up our cross and follow diligently. Many brothers and sisters have sacrificed greatly for their faith in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Their perseverance, even in the face of persecution, is sacred. It is deeply disrespectful to mock their legacy by tarnishing it with idolatry, pagan practices, and sexual perversion.

Our faith is not meant for entertainment or to simply make sense of things through naturalistic explanations. We devotionally follow the King of the Universe—He is the only one who truly understands how everything functions, because He is the Creator of all.

So, what then, how do we fulfill our part in the Kingdom of Yahweh?

We are commissioned to make disciples from all nations, and lead them towards the wilderness, help them cross the waters that divides them away from Yahweh, while they are accustom in their Egypt (Sin), to reach the other side, emerging from baptism, in Ha‑Shem —the Name—. But in order to make them disciples, we have to become disciples ourselves.

This is how you become a disciple —תלמיד— ‘talmid‘ (plural talmidin):

“I am giving you a new command: that you keep on loving each other. In the same way that I have loved you, you are also to keep on loving each other. Everyone will know that you are my talmidim by the fact that you have love for each other.”

John 13:34-35 • Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

And this is how you make disciples, you speak truth, and nothing but the truth of Scriptures:

“If I had not come and spoken to them, they wouldn’t be guilty of sin; but now, they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done in their presence works which no one else ever did, they would not be guilty of sin; but now, they have seen them and have hated both me and my Father. But this has happened in order to fulfill the words in their Torah which read, ‘They hated me for no reason at all.’ “When the Counselor comes, whom I will send you from the Father—the Spirit of Truth, who keeps going out from the Father—he will testify on my behalf. And you testify too, because you have been with me from the outset.

John 15:22-27 • Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

You speak the truth with love, and love do not sugarcoat the truth, whether to appease tradition or maintain political correctness. As Gentiles, we have a responsibility to share the full revelation of Yahweh first with the Jews, and then among ourselves.

However, to those of you who are Gentiles I say this: since I myself am an emissary sent to the Gentiles, I make known the importance of my work in the hope that somehow I may provoke some of my own people to jealousy and save some of them! For if their casting Yeshua aside means reconciliation for the world, what will their accepting him mean? It will be life from the dead!

Romans 11:13-15 • Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

And for those who still reject Israel as the people of Yahweh and as a nation remember:

Now if the hallah offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole loaf. And if the root is holy, so are the branches. But if some of the branches were broken off, and you—a wild olive—were grafted in among them and have become equal sharers in the rich root of the olive tree, then don’t boast as if you were better than the branches! However, if you do boast, remember that you are not supporting the root, the root is supporting you. So you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” True, but so what? They were broken off because of their lack of trust. However, you keep your place only because of your trust. So don’t be arrogant; on the contrary, be terrified! For if God did not spare the natural branches, he certainly won’t spare you! So take a good look at God’s kindness and his severity: on the one hand, severity toward those who fell off; but, on the other hand, God’s kindness toward you—provided you maintain yourself in that kindness! Otherwise, you too will be cut off! Moreover, the others, if they do not persist in their lack of trust, will be grafted in; because God is able to graft them back in. For if you were cut out of what is by nature a wild olive tree and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree!

Romans 11:16-24 •Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

Yahweh have a plan of redemption for the whole world and for all people, especially for those you hate, mostly for those you hate.

“Yet even now” —it is a declaration of ADONAI— “turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, weeping and lamenting.” Rend your heart, not your garments, and turn to ADONAI, your God. For He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abundant in mercy, and relenting about the calamity due. Who knows? He may turn and relent, and may leave a blessing behind Him —so there may be a grain offering and a drink offering for ADONAI, your God.

Joel 2:12-14 • Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

And this plan of redemption has been set from the beginning. But you have to decide in what side are you on. On Ha-Shem’s or the world.

in the west they will fear the name of ADONAI, and likewise, in the east, his glory. For he will come like a pent-up stream, impelled by the Spirit of ADONAI. “Then a Redeemer will come to Tziyon, to those in Ya’akov who turn from rebellion.” So says ADONAI. “And as for me,” says ADONAI, “this is my covenant with them: my Spirit, who rests on you, and my words which I put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth or from the mouth of your children, or from the mouth of your children’s children, now or ever,” says ADONAI. “Arise, shine [Yerushalayim], for your light has come, the glory of ADONAI has risen over you.

Isaiah 59:19 to Isaiah 60:1 • Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

Ponder on this. In what side are you on?

What side are you on? Yahweh’s side or the ancient serpent’s side?

May Yahweh bless you and keep you; May Yahweh let His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; May Yahweh lift up His face towards you and give you His peace.
