Rabbi Saul has been guiding his readers from Chapter 1 to this point to reveal the increasing danger of approaching the Gospel of Yeshua without understanding. As Hosea warns, \u201cMy people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.\u201d Ignorance of God\u2019s ways leads to distortion, pride, and ultimately spiritual ruin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from ministering as My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I Myself also will forget your children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hosea 4:6<\/strong> \u2022 Versi\u00f3n Reina Valera 1960 (RV60)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n In chapter 1<\/strong> he begins by addressing a central issue among believers: our tendency to give in to our sinful nature and allow it to shape the way we interpret Scripture. When the flesh governs our understanding, we twist the truth to fit our desires<\/p>\n\n\n\n In chapter 2<\/strong> Rabbi Saul then turns to his own people. They attempted to enforce Torah while failing to live righteously themselves. They judged Gentile believers for not meeting their standards, revealing their own misunderstanding of Torah. Torah was never intended to save; salvation comes from Yahweh alone. We obey Torah because He has redeemed us, not because of our own merit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In chapter 3<\/strong> after the Jewish community was expelled from Rome, Gentile believers developed doctrines that neglected the foundation of Torah, allowing pagan ideas to creep in. Some began calling the Law of God useless or even harmful. Rabbi Saul confronts this error, reminding them that Torah reveals sin and provides the tools to return to righteousness through the Ruach Ha\u2011Kodesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In chapter 4 and 5<\/strong> Rabbi Saul intensify his concern about our difficulty to be able to separate doctrines and the truth of they way of Yeshua. Both Judeans and Gentiles are missing the point, the purpose of our Salvation, which should lead us to grow in the knowledge of Yahweh, and the love to one another. Saul needs to expand in the topic of redemption once more. He would give up everything he learned from Yeshua if it meant Israel would recognize the Messiah. He warns them not to assume that being Abraham\u2019s physical descendants guarantees salvation. He also warns Gentile believers to pay attention \u2014 salvation comes not from lineage but from the promise, the seed aligned with Yahweh\u2019s plan of redemption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With this in perspective, let’s begin\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n Does the Law No Longer Apply Because We Have Yeshua?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Some claim that Yeshua abolished the Law, but this is not what Scripture or Rabbi Saul teaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Romans 10:1-4 (LSB)<\/strong> ~ Brothers, my heart\u2019s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation. For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. For not knowing about the righteousness of God and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Romans 10:4 says that \u201cChrist is the end of the law for righteousness.\u201d The Greek word telos does not mean termination but goal, purpose, or intended outcome. Where His laws are rejected, chaos reigns. Yeshua came to restore order to a world corrupted by human tradition and misunderstanding. The \u201cend\u201d of Torah is the Messiah \u2014 its purpose, its direction, and its embodiment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Who Guides Us?<\/p>\n\n\n\n Romans 10:5-10 (LSB)<\/strong> ~ For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of law: \u201cTHE MAN WHO DOES THESE THINGS SHALL LIVE BY THEM.\u201d But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way: \u201cDO NOT SAY IN YOUR HEART, \u2018WHO WILL GO UP INTO HEAVEN?\u2019 (that is, to bring Christ down), or \u2018WHO WILL GO DOWN INTO THE ABYSS?\u2019 (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).\u201d But what does it say? \u201cTHE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART\u201d\u2014that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, leading to righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, leading to salvation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Here Rabbi Paul quotes Vayikra (Leviticus) 18:5 to show that the result of living by God\u2019s instructions is life. The leaders of his day believed the Law itself produced salvation, but Paul insists that salvation comes through Yeshua. Only through Him can we walk in obedience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Because of Yeshua\u2019s faithfulness, we have received the Spirit of Wisdom, who guides us as a mother eagle hovers over her young. Devarim (Deuteronomy) 30 declares that God\u2019s commandments are not too difficult or far away. Through the Spirit, Yahweh writes His Torah on our hearts, enabling us to walk in His ways. Remember what Yahweh told us through Moshe (Moses):<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cFor this commandment which I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it far from you\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n Deuteronomy 30:11<\/strong> \u2022 Versi\u00f3n Reina Valera 1960 (RV60)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n As Paul is reminding us now, Yahweh’s Law is not too far, or too deep or lost, His Law (Torah) is being written in our hearts. As Yahweh promised He would.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to do My judgments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ezekiel 36:27<\/strong> \u2022 Versi\u00f3n Reina Valera 1960 (RV60)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n These is the Gospel, the foundation of the New Covenant (Brit Cha-DaSha).<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBut this is the covenant which I will cut with the house of Israel after those days,\u201d declares Yahweh: \u201cI will put My law within them, and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. All of the Torah brought us to this point. And there’s still promises in the Hebrew Bible yet to be fulfill. If Yeshua would’ve have abolished the Hebrew Bible then we as grafted-in Gentiles would not have part of the Kingdom. Because all the promises concerning what Yeshua did in the cross and is going to do in the future are all revealed by the Torah, the Prophets and the Writtings. Yahweh promised Yeshua, for our salvation. That prophecy has been fulfilled. It might be convenient to our flesh, but not to our whole self. Since Yahweh is expecting us to produce fruit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n No Shame<\/p>\n\n\n\n Sin brings shame and fear, still, Yahweh has made a way, a gate, that makes it possible for us to approach Him. And has been doing it constantly. Yeshua took our shame, fear and darkness and made it His own, to cover them with His body, and to cleanse us with His blood. If we call upon His name, whoever call upon His name will be saved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Romans 10:11-13 LSB<\/strong> ~ For the Scripture says, \u201cWHOEVER BELIEVES UPON HIM WILL NOT BE PUT TO SHAME.\u201d For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him, for \u201cWHOEVER CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is interesting to point out, the first symptom of sin is shame, as Adam and Eve discovered in the Garden of Eden:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Then the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable to make one wise, so she took from its fruit and ate; and she gave also to her husband with her, and he ate. And the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loin coverings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Genesis 3:6-7<\/strong> \u2022 Versi\u00f3n Reina Valera 1960 (RV60)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n Both, Adam and Eve covered themselves when they saw they were naked, but this nakedness is more that two bodies without cloth, it might be that at that time they might have felt unjust thougths towards one another, felt the weight of imperfection and the full weight of shame. And as Yeshua accomplished in a more permanent agreement, Yahweh cover Adam and Eve shame by the sacrifice of an innocent bystander. Something precious to Yahweh attoned for the shame of Adam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Yeshua then becomes that innocent bystander. Yahweh Himself made flesh, to reconcile us to Himself. His only begotten Son. Rabbi Paul again brings this to our attention, because is not because anything we did, but because Yahweh promised it to us quoting the book of Isaiah:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Therefore thus says Lord Yahweh, \u201cBehold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, A costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. Where many stumble upon, some will not receive Him as Yahweh, others will treat Him as a mere human prophet, and other just see Him as a problem hard to get rid of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But when Jesus looked at them, He said, \u201cWhat then is this that is written: \u2018THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS HAS BECOME THE CHIEF CORNER stone\u2019? Even many that profess to belief in Him. The psalmist understood this, and he wrote about this. Psalm 118 is like a book from the Brit Chadasha. Understanding that is Yahweh who open the gate, as Yeshua describe Himself as the gate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Open to me the gates of righteousness; I shall enter through them, I shall give thanks to Yah. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth And lick the dust of your feet; And you will know that I am Yahweh; Those who hope in Me will not be put to shame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Isaiah 49:23<\/strong> \u2022 Versi\u00f3n Reina Valera 1960 (RV60)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n Rabbi Paul makes it very clear the diety of Yeshua, attributing the accompliment only attributed to Yahweh in the Tannakh. The one who removes sin, and ultimately removes our shame. His main intention is to make us understand there is no distinction between Jew or Greek, because the promises were made by Yahweh to whomever believes and follows Him will be saved. Since it is Yahweh the author of our salvation, Yeshua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Is there a catch?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n Romans 10:14-15 (LSB)<\/strong> ~ How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? And how will they preach unless they are sent? Our priority as believers is not only to bring the Gospel to the nations, but also to those of the house of Ya’acov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThen He said, \u2018I will hide My face from them; I will see what their end shall be; For they are a perverse generation, Sons in whom is no faithfulness. \u2018They have made Me jealous with what is not God; They have provoked Me to anger with their idols. As rabbi Paul continues:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Romans 10:16-19 (LSB)<\/strong> ~ However, they did not all heed the good news, for Isaiah says, \u201cLORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?\u201d So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. But I say, have they never heard? On the contrary, they have; \u201cTHEIR VOICE HAS GONE OUT INTO ALL THE EARTH, AND THEIR WORDS TO THE ENDS OF THE WORLD.\u201d But I say, did Israel not know? First Moses says, \u201cI WILL MAKE YOU JEALOUS BY THAT WHICH IS NOT A NATION, BY A NATION WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING WILL I ANGER YOU.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Israel will be redeemed by the words of Yeshua, if we, as true believers of the promises of Yahweh, those who have faith, as the faith of Abraham, preach an unalterated Gospel. Not of division and cotention, but a Gospel of hard truths and love. We found Yeshua when we were not looking for Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Romans 10:20-21 (LSB)<\/strong> ~ And Isaiah is very bold and says, \u201cI WAS FOUND BY THOSE WHO DID NOT SEEK ME, I BECAME MANIFEST TO THOSE WHO DID NOT ASK FOR ME.\u201d But as for Israel He says, \u201cALL DAY LONG I HAVE STRETCHED OUT MY HANDS TO A DISOBEDIENT AND OBSTINATE PEOPLE.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n This remains true even today. However, in Israel, we are experiencing a revival like no other because many ministries and individuals have preached the true Gospel. It is not a Gospel that seeks to conform to their traditions; such a Gospel does not remove blindness but rather makes it more opaque, increasing stubbornness (Isaiah 65:2). The Gospel that Yahweh wants us to share with His chosen people is the one that lifts the blindfold of their traditions so they can clearly see their Messiah. This blindness has been permitted so that we, as grafted-in Gentiles, can receive the promise given to Abraham. Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Conclusi\u00f3n<\/p>\n\n\n\n Can we humbly accept the cornerstone? Can we humbly accept His guidance and His word? Only through the Messiah, with the power of the Spirit, who lead us back to Yahweh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This is not about me or you. Is about what Yahweh wants to do for us. He wants to restore creation to its original incorruptable state, the one we corrupted. He will renew it with a new heaven and a new earth, and the walk towards this promised land has started with our Passover (Protection) Lamb, who opened the gates of heaven allowing us to cross the waters of Baptism, engraving in our hearts the Laws given in Sinai, so we can delight in them and walk the way Yeshua walked.
